We are Arogyam

An Eco Boutique Home Stay in a place we call Yogashram. As we co-work it for Yog and meditation activities, we call it Forest Bathing. We are nestled in the serene hills of Mulshi, near Tata Talav backwaters, on the Mohri-Shirgav Road, approximately 5 km from Nive Village. We house a Goshala for adopted cows and worship them for the immense energy and blessings they give us. While this is a private property, it is approved by the Maharashtra Tourism and Development Corporation.

Home Stay, Farm Stay & Slow Living Experience

We rent the cottage to sustain the activities and Goshala housed in Arogyam. Accommodation is provided in a cottage inside the premises, surrounded by approximately 500 trees that we have planted. During the COVID-19 pandemic, farm stays became significantly more popular as people realized the importance of fresh air, water and learning to survive with basic necessities. We are equipped with 24*7 electricity backup, landline, potable water, domestic pets, and a caretaker and his family, who are experienced with forest livelihood.

This is a slow-life experience. When you stay here, forget your gadgets and live the moments. Read books, talk to animals and involve yourself in farm activities. You can enjoy peaceful activities as you like within specified time zones. Take a walk to the backwaters, go cycling, walk alongside the backwaters, breathe deeply and meditate under designated trees. Play fetch with pet dogs, take cattle for grazing, sit on the porch or terrace enjoying your tea and the sound of whistling birds, experience farming activities, or enjoy a fresh glass of toddy if you like. We request guests to take care of self-cleanliness and suggest improvements for better experiences. Your meaningful insights can help us align towards our mission.

Facilities, Activities & Accommodation

We have made play areas for outdoor activities such as rural village games, badminton, volleyball and table tennis. Facilities also include a Meditation / Community Hall, designated bonfire areas, a cottage kitchen and comfortable washrooms. The kitchen is equipped with all essentials needed. Ready-to-cook meals are available at reasonable charges. Filtered water, required utensils and spices are maintained like in your home kitchen shelves. You can ask the caretaker for fresh vegetables and fruits from the farm and for any additional support he can extend.

The cottage has two Western-style washrooms, while one Indian-style washroom is available near the caretaker's unit. One bed is available near the caretaker's unit for a permanent driver accompanying guests; all identification documents must be provided in advance to avoid nuisance. The cottage has two bedrooms: the first has a large bed and a small convertible sofa and can sleep up to 4 people; the second has a large bed and seating sofa bed and can sleep up to 3 people. A few extra single folding beds are available as required, accommodating up to 4 additional guests. We also have 5 × 4 sleeper tents that can be installed by the caretaker at designated areas, accommodating up to 10 people.

Our Mission, Sustainable Living & Guest Guidelines

We never solicit ourselves. We rent the premises based on your request and work towards the betterment of our community and our services. Our primary agenda is to sustain the Goshala, Yogashram activities and build a community of citizens committed to sustainable goals for a better world. Allied activities such as cycle trips, farm visits, trekking, boat rides, toddy extraction from trees and similar experiences provide livelihood to neighbouring villagers and are therefore encouraged within the applicable rules. These are not our marketed or owned initiatives; only information is made available at our premises, and participants are free to choose as per their wishes.

We exercise and advise care and due diligence to ensure hygienic and safe stay and food options. Hence, there are also time restrictions for entering and leaving the premises. We rent the cottage inside our premises at reasonable charges to sustain our activities. All bookings must be made in advance and after verification of government-issued ID proof. We find intoxication unpleasant, and such guests must refrain from booking the home stay, as it affects the overall sanctity of our premises. No alcohol, cigarettes or intoxicating substances are allowed.

Subsistence Farming: We are involved in sustainable organic farming practices, and our home-grown vegetables and fruits help us remain largely self-sufficient.
